Car shipping can be a hassle. But here at CheapCarShipper, we’ve compiled a simple “how-to” guide to make shipping your car a breeze!

Today we are reviewing the third, and final step on car shipping, preparing for your vehicles arrival.

When your vehicle arrives at its final destination, the first thing you want to do, is thoroughly inspect your vehicle. You took pictures before the car shipped, a good plan of action is to compare those pictures to the vehicle after its arrival and make sure the car looks the same. Start the vehicle up and make sure it is running properly. The vehicle traveled a long distance, damages could have occurred at any point. Make sure the inspection happens before the driver leaves so they can be reported to the driver. Make sure these issues and/or damages are properly notated on the Bill of Lading (BOL). Once this step is completed make sure the driver has signed the BOL and given you a copy. In the rare occurrence of any issues or damages, the insurance provided by the vehicle transportation company should cover any repairs your vehicle may need.

Also, remember to gather all of the spare keys that were provided to the driver.

On average, 2 million vehicles are shipped every year in the United States alone and 60,000 people have received quotes from the CheapCarShipper network in the past year. Vehicle transportation is a safe and reliable way to get your vehicle from point A to point B. The trick is, finding the right company, and we hope these steps helped you learn how to find the right company and minimize the stress.
